We hope that your visit to our website allows you a glimpse of who we are as a social and service fraternity. We are proud of all we have to offer to the young men of UNCW. Members of our colony receive a number of benefits that will ensure an enjoyable and productive college experience.

A member's involvement in our chapter can be divided up into three stages: Associate Member, Active Member, and Alumni.

Associate Member

As an Associate Member, your son will begin to learn about what it means to be a member of a tightly knit community. Our new member program lasts roughly six weeks. During this time, the associate member learns about the Delta Chi Fraternity; its history, its traditions, and its ritual. Academics are stressed as the foundation for membership. We believe that first and foremost, we are at UNCW to be students and to receive a great education.

As a commitment to this ideal, associate members are required to attend study hours every week to help further their study habits. Additionally, the chapter Scholarship Chairman maintains contact with each member and arranges for additional academic assistance if needed (tutoring, extra study hours, etc.) Associate Members are also invited and encouraged to participate in the activities of the active chapter: social functions, intramural athletic teams, university interfraternal events, and chapter alumni events.

Active Member

As an Active Member, the brothers are to take responsibility for the day to day operations of the Fraternity. Annualy, leaders are elected from the body to take on roles such as President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, Sergeant at Arms, and Alumni Relations. Semesterly brothers are able to be elected for Chair Committees such as Rush, Social, Scholarship, New Member Education (AMC), Chaplin, Philanthropy, etc. Memebers are strongly encouraged to hold positions and have the opportunity to do so upon becomming Brothers.

Graduation does not mark the end of a member’s involvement in the chapter. The UNCW Colony encourages individuals to continue their role in the fraternity to help continue their growth in the Bond of Brotherhood.

Now What Does This All Mean?

Well, this Fraternity is different than all the others. We take pride in what we do. We find that words like Tradtion, Character, and Pride are easy live. Your son is offered a leadership position within our Fraternity, making him stand out as a leader on campus. Your some wont be lost in the shuffle and will be able to get the best out of his college experience.
